New ISO certifications create value at FH Automation

FH Automation became ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certified in 2023, and it has provided much more than just a nice diploma for the wall. The work with the certifications has contributed to creating value for the individual employee, the customers, and the environment. All work processes have been thoroughly examined and evaluated, enabling the company to ensure safety, quality, and responsibility in all aspects of their work.

The certifications are evidence that FH Automation complies with international standards in quality assurance, environmental legislation and responsibility, as well as occupational health and safety, which they focus heavily on maintaining.

Focus on quality, employees, and the environment

All work procedures are regularly reviewed, and this applies in all respects. It is done with an eye on the individual employee's health and safety, measuring the climate footprint, and preventing inefficient and quality-diminishing habits from taking hold.

ISO 9001 is the most widespread certification scheme with a strong focus on customer orientation. FH Automation was first certified in ISO 9001 in 2017 but has recently been recertified in 2023. In this context, FH Automation even managed to expand with two new certifications, namely ISO 14001 and 45001.

With the new ISO 14001 certification came, among other things, an internal determination of environmental impact, considerations about environmental goals, and an action plan for reducing the climate footprint. The new ISO 45001 certification has focused on the work environment, with an evaluation of everything from management engagement, employee participation, to setting goals that can further improve the work environment.

Systematization aids transparency and overview

The work of becoming ISO certified is not much different from the efforts FH Automation has always made. However, there is no doubt that it requires extra effort to maintain and improve the many work processes, but it is time and effort that they are willing to prioritize.

 - Maintaining the certification costs a bit in time and money, but I am convinced that it is money well spent. Partly, there are customers who require ISO certification, and partly, it provides transparency that makes it much easier for us to oversee all processes, says Lars Farsø.
